McIntosh Practical Completion

House McIntosh has reached practical completion and the result is a classically elegant home. The Guest Toilet makes use of a square contemporary basin, venetian silverleafed mirror and glass mosaics, therefore combining classic style with contemporary finishes and fittings.

The Mosaic behind the basin has been repeated behind the toilet for consistency and to create a low feature wall.

The Vanity in bathroom 2 is a ceasar stone floating top, square contemporary basin and a tall thin mirror cabinet, the lighting above still needs to be installed. The travertine tiles work wonderfully with vanity top to create an elegant finished effect.

Mosaics have been used again in the kitchen, this time behind this Smeg stove, which is a feature of the kitchen.

Again the kitchen is in a classic style but constructed of sprayed supawood and glass, and makes use of display shelves to create a contemporary feel and a play on old and new.

Look out for Jossi Design's new advert which will be going into the Ridge Magazine shortly!

House in Zimbali

Craig and I had a site meeting for the House in Zimbali with the Architect, builder, the client and the airconditioning contractor to check the building progress and make some decisions regarding the interior and exterior appearance and functionality of the house.

Since the site meeting we have met with the electrician and some adjustmets have been made to the electrical layout. The work on site is progressing and we are busy at Jossi Design finalising the detailed designs such as the Staircase design, vanity units and Feature walls.

We have gone to tender on the kitchen and BIC designs and are expecting the tenders to be in on Monday. Another site meeting should be taking place shortly and we will continue to write about the progress as the project continues.

Showhouse in SA Homeowner Magazine

The showhouse at Palm Lakes Estate in Tinley Manor had a bit a of a revamp this week as it was being photographed for an editorial that will go into the SA Homeowner Magazine.

The Estate is growing rapidly with apartments springing up all over. The first Clubhouse, that Jossi Design is also working on, will be ready for furniture towards the end of August.

The Showhouse with its open plan entrance, lounge and kitchen has a lovely light and spacious feel. The dining room is made to feel slightly more private with the use of a lowered ceiling over this area.

The girls room is kept simple with the dominant use of white with pink as the accent. The boys room is playful with the bunk beds in white and blue, and lots of fluffy toys scattered around.

Finally the Main Bedroom is restful and romantic, with beautiful views of the garden and the estate, framed by eyelet curtains on shiny aluminium rods.

We took some photos when we were setting up for the photo shoot, look out for the article in the SA Homeowner.
