House in Zimbali

Jossi Design has been very busy over the last few weeks with our various projects. Recently we attended an evening site meeting at one of our major projects in Zimbali. It is a rare treat to be on site in the evening and  experiencing the various lighting showing off each space.

This 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom home is in the final stages of construction and we are busy finalising all internal finishes and fittings to get the decorating process on track.

Jossi Design will keep you posted with the finishing touches as the project reaches final completion!

House In Sherwood

This family home located in Sherwood, Durban, is magnificient!

The client worked closely with Jossi Design but allowed us to guide them through the design and decorating process in terms colour, finish, furniture and product design right down to the creation of the artwork and accessories, and we could not be more pleased with the result. Colour has been used as a powerful accent in all the rooms.

Wallpaper has been used extensively to create feature walls, in particular the striped wallpaper in the Baby's room turned out to be a huge success and gives the room a feeling of fun and happiness, and the wallpaper and mirror on the landing completes an otherwise dead space.

Furniture has been carefully selected and positioned in order to make the rooms feel larger and in correct proportion.

All headboards, bedside pedestals, workstations, bathroom vanities, built in cupboards were designed by Jossi Design and manufactured by shopfitters keeping in mind the function of the items as well as the look and feel the client was aiming to achieve.

Spiga D'Oro on Florida Road

Spiga D'Oro on Florida Road is just one of the exciting projects that Jossi Design is working on at the moment.  The back Piazza area has been open for a while now, with a few snags still to be attended to, but overall there is such a great vibe when you sit outside and relax near the water fountain. 

                                                  

The food of course is amazing and I love going to Spiga for lunch or dinner, so it is fantastic that I get to work on the interior design for this restaurant. 

We are now hectically trying to finish the front left hand side of Spiga.  This is going to have a totally different look, being more industrial with exposed cable trays and aluminium tubing on the walls.  The paint colours however have just been painted on the walls and it gives the interior a very soft and comfortable feeling so I think it is going to be a great success with patrons. 

There is a wonderful double volume space allowing us to hang a unique pendant designed especially for Spiga.  We just hope this arrives in time for World Cup Madness!

                                                  

We have decided to keep the old staircase and balustrade so there is a mix between old and industrial, which create an interesting feel.

                                               

Special thanks must go to Marco and Sergio for their great food, hospitality and the atmosphere they create by the presence at Spiga.  We love the restaurant and wish them all the best over the world cup season and for years to come.

Apartment in Palm Lakes Estate

Jossi Design has been involved in the decorating of one of the King Palm apartments out at the Palm Lakes Estate in Tinley Manor.  This is a beautiful estate just past Ballito / Salt Rock and it was a pleasure to decorate this apartment.

This apartment has such a wonderful feeling of space, the 3 bedrooms are large, there is a wonderful lounge complete with sliding doors opening onto the huge patio.  This apartment has 3 various patios allowing for amazing views over the lake as well as creating fantastic entertainment areas.  The upstairs loft acts as a study but is large enough to allow for a second lounge, where we have used a sleeper couch so it can also be used as a spare bedroom. 

                   

All of the furniture items and accessories were sourced locally and special thanks must to go @ home in Gateway and their wonderful new furniture range. With a quick turn around required by the client dealing with @ home was a pleasure.

Jossi Design has a new project underway in Umhlanga Rocks. This home is going to be amazing when it is finished, the deadline is extremely soon and we really need to get things moving fast.



This 4 bedroom house (all en-suite) also consists of a formal lounge, tv lounge, large open plan dining room and kitchen, and entertainment area on the second floor complete with bar, dining table and TV area.



Designs are underway for the Ceiling layouts, the lounge fireplace and TV feature wall, and all shopfitting drawings for the headboards, bedside pedestals and Built in Cupboards.



Window treatments need to be decided on, as well as furniture and fabric specifications. This all needs to get underway as soon as possible if we are going to make the deadline the client has given... an exciting challenge!
