Jossi Furniture

Jossi Design has finally added the furniture page to the website!

It has taken a long time to plan and work on this concept and finally it has taken shape. The idea is really so that we provide an additional service in that furniture we have designed can be purchased by client who want one off pieces for their house, apartment or office space.

All items can be amended in design to suit the requirements of the client whether it be colour, size or number of drawers for example.

Please feel free to visit this page of our website by following the link http://www.jossi.co.za/furniture.htm. Orders can be placed by clicking on the order button on the website and fill in any additional information required so we can contact you to discuss this further.

IID Stand at Decorex

We were very busy this week with our various projects as well as Decorex. As the newly appointed President for the KZN IID, I was given the duty (together with the previous president Lianne van Niekerk) to organise the IID stand and get this set up in time for Decorex which started on Friday.

The IID is the South African Institute of The Interior Design Professions so it was important that we have a stand at Decorex to make people more aware of Institute's existence and how it can serve the public, current members and potential members.

I hope this event was a success for creating awareness about the IID and what it can offer. I am looking forward to the year ahead as president and hope it will help to create a better understanding of our industry.

Congratulations to all IID members who had stands at Decorex, they looked amazing and I hope you get some great feedback.

The South African Institute of Interior Design Professions

We are busy with our various projects at the moment but one of the things we are urgently trying to organise the the IID stand for Decorex Durban which opens next weekend. Thank goodness for the friends we have in the industry as we are having to source various furniture items and obje for the stand and our suppliers are being extremely helpful.
The IID is The South African Institute of Interior Design Professions, it is the professional body representing the Interior Design profession in South Africa. It operates nationally with representation in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern and Western Cape. The Institute is dedicated to establishing, promoting and maintaining expertise, professionalism, sound business practice and high standards throughout the industry. Membership of the IID indicates your status as a qualified, experienced and ethical practicing professional. The IID is a Member of IFI, the International Federation of Interior Architects & Designers.
I am happy to have been elected the regional head of the IID and will be going to Johannesburg at the end of the Month to attend the AGM. So there is another challenge ahead for me this year, lets hope it keeps getting better.

House in Sherwood

Wow this house is really looking good! We are still busy with the finishing touches such as artwork and positioning of accessories but I am really really happy with the look and feel of this interior.

The lounge is a mix of black, grey, silver, white and accents of hot pink. The wallpaper behind the sleeper couch adds the finishing touch, and the floating storage cupboards are high gloss to match the kitchen.

The Main Bedroom makes use of plum colours, sprayed glass and high gloss sprayed supawood to create a classy yet comfortable bedroom setting.

The boys room is typically blue but is distinctively different in the designs for the cupboards, the study unit and the headboard!

The younger boy's room has a playful touch with the use of lime green and off white. The striped wallpaper is just amazing on the wall behind the headboard.

We searched and searched for a wallpaper for the landing and finally found this amazing Eiffinger wallpaper that the client was pleased with. When it was installed we were all thrilled with the outcome, and the round mirror and the 3 pendants add the finishing touch.

We will be taking final photos soon for the website so keep a look out for those on www.jossi.co.za

Umgeni Water Head Office, PMB

The renovations for the Umgeni Water head office should be getting underway soon. The tenders have come in and the project management team have done their evaluations. The next step is an internal meeting tomorrow afternoon at Umgeni Water in Pietermaritzburg in order to move forward with the awarding of the tender to the successful contractor.

In the interim the new Umgeni Water sign has been installed in front of the building and I was very happy with the outcome when I went to a meeting at their offices last week. This sign is a glimpse at the new look and feel for the head office interior - fresh, bold, professional and innovative.

We look forward to the start of the renovations and seeing our designs starting to take shape. It is going to be a long process as this is a massive building, but we are certain the final look and feel is going to impress.

Jossi Design is working to add some new features to our website in the next few weeks so keep visiting www.jossi.co.za to see what is in store.
