Designer Decor

Here's a seemingly simple lighting solution for you. Japanese designers Nendo presented these lamps made from heated agricultural nets. These nets are normally used to protect crops from strong winds and curious birds, but through heat-forming were able to create clean and contemporary shades.

Just goes to show that sometimes the simplest solution can give the best impact.

Inspired Design

Just have a look at this project completed by Xten Architecture. Built on awkward steep sloping grounds in the Hollywood hills, this exclusive home is aptly named "Openhouse". Full height doors and window panes remove all boundaries between indoors and outdoors resulting in continuous movement between the spaces. Clean, smooth lines create an array of strong shapes which lead the eye though the space and to the exterior. Stunning!

The Upstairs

We know how you love an exclusive scoop. Here's a little bit of something that not too many Durbanites have been lucky enough to see yet. Jossi Design has been involved for the past few months on the upstairs area (hence the name) above Spiga D'Oro in the space that was, once upon a time, the old Roman Lounge.

The brief was for an edgy, fun and retro space with a strong graphic element which was brought in by use of original artworks. We haven't had the professional photographer through yet, but we couldn't wait to share these you. Enjoy!

Jossi Design HQ

Nothing like using these first few quiet days of the New Year to do some housekeeping! If not kept in check our archives have a habit of swelling exponentially and, being the fantastically creative designers we are, we're good at creating a mess in the workplace. We can't help it. When the ideas are flowing the last thing we want to do is... *shudder*... filing...

Regardless, to move forward it must be done. Getting there slowly!

Multi-Functional Design

We're getting to the stage where space in our homes is an absolute luxury. Living in cluttered and messy spaces is not for everyone so the clever designers at Jossi Design will share a thought with you. My inspiration started from a chance perusal of the @Home store at Gateway where I saw this little side table and magazine rack.

@Home

So simple and so smart. Not only do form and function work in absolute harmony, but using glass makes the table almost disappear in any space giving the illusion of more space. Here are a few more ideas for you:
